1.Sabrina Carpenter goes head-to-head with the White House.  The White House social media team used Sabrina Carpenters song, "Juno" in a recent video depicting law enforcement officers arresting individuals for breaking immigration laws. Carpenter commented on the post saying the video was "evil and disgusting" and "Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda." However, White House Spokesperson Abigail Jackson had a comment of her own using lyrics for some of Carpenters songs "Here's a Short n' Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won't apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles, from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?"  CNN



2. Texas man killed by Arkansas State Police after four-hour standoff. On Monday, December 1, Arkansas State Police shot and Killed Robert Foster, of Texarkana after a four-hour standoff. According to Arkansas State Police both Lafayette County Sheriff's Office and the Lewisville Police Department were searching for Foster as he had outstanding felony warrants and had made threats against law enforcement officers. Foster was located at a business in Stamps around 6p.m. officers attempted to make a traffic stop. However, Foster refused to stop. Officers pursued Foster into Nevada County were he stopped on a logging road in Falcon. Officers from LPD, LCSO, Nevada County Sheriff's Office and The Hempstead County Sheriff's Office as well as the Arkansas State Police SWAT team tried to negotiate with Foster. The standoff ended about 10 p.m. when Foster fired at SWAT team members who then returned fire. Magnolia Reporter


3. Helena-West Helena Police Department investigation body found hanging from a tree. Helena-West Helena Officers discovered the body of Alex Bennett hanging from a tree in a wooded area near the Hays Grocery Store. At the moment no foul play is suspected, and the incident is being investigated as a possible suicide. However, the investigation is still underway. KATV


4. Australian children under 16 years old to be kicked of social media. Tech giant Meta has begun removing account holders under the age of 16 from Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. An estimated 150,000 Facebook and 350,000 Instagram accounts are expected to be affected. This comes just a week before Australia's first social media ban which is set to begin December 10, 2025. Companies who do not take "reasonable steps" to ensure those under the age of 16 do not have an account will face fines equivalent to $33 million dollars.  BBC


5. Check your Cheese. Cheese around the U.S. is being recalled for possibly containing metal pieces.  Over one million bags of cheese purchased at Walmart, Target, and Aldi have been recalled by the FDA for potentially containing metal pieces. The recall first began in October then on December 1st the FDA reclassified the recall to a "Class 1". Meaning that the food "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences." The recalled cheese was sold under a variety of brand names and to 31 different states. Great Lakes Cheese, who first issued the recall, stated on December 3rd "All recalled products have been removed from markets and replaced with new products. Further, the products currently on retail shelves are safe to consume and not associated with the October recall." USA Today


6. 2025 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo starts off with glam and glitz with the Back number ceremony. Over the years the Back number ceremony has become an event filled with the top fifteen rodeo athletes in each event, rodeo legends, and of course over the top western fashion. The Ceremony kicks off the two-week cowboy takeover of the Las Vegas strip. The number one back number goes to the cowboy or cowgirl who has won the most money throughout the year. This year the number one back number will be worn by Stetson Wright, who will compete in both Saddle Bronc Riding and Bull Riding this year. Sports Illustrated


7. Robert Irwin following in sister Bindi's footsteps winning this season of 'Dancing with the stars'. Robert Irwin and partner Witney Carson danced their way to the Mirrorball Trophy on season 34 finale of "Dancing with the Stars". Roberts sister, Bindi won the Mirrorball with partner Derek Hough 10 years ago in 2015. When asked by host Julianne Hough what it meant to him to win "Dancing with the Stars" Robert said, "My sister said it best: Thank you for changing my life."  ABC News


8. First Lady Melania Trump reveals the White House's stunning Christmas decorations for 2025.  On Monday December 1st, President Trump revealed in a post on X the theme for this season "Home is where the Heart Is." The decorations follow a red, white, and blue theme. In the Red room in particular a jaw-dropping Christmas tree stands adorned in blue butterflies accompanied by white ornaments with the words "Be Best" on them. The ornaments are a nod to the first lady's public-awareness campaign "Be Best". The Mantle in the Red Room is dedicated to the foster care community which is one of the first lady's main causes. ABC News


9. A raccoon goes on a drunken rampage in Virginia liquor store before passing out in the bathroom. On Friday evening, a raccoon snuck into a Virginia state-run liquor store and had an absolute field day. The raccoon triggered a motion sensor which notified the store manager. However, since it was after hours and no one was in the store the manager decided to leave it alone until the store opened the next morning. Security footage shows the masked bandit having the time of his life running through the aisles. The manager found the raccoon passed out beside the toilet in the employee bathroom. The raccoon was taken back to the local animal shelter to sober up. The Washington Post


10. Family of Colombian man killed in a U.S. military strike files complaint against U.S. Alejandro Carranza Medina was killed on September 15th after his vessel was targeted in Washington's anti-narcotics military campaign. Medinas family states that there was no drugs on the vessel and that he was only a fisherman. The family has lodged a complaint against the United States with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.  Over more than 80 people have been killed by U.S. strikes that were claimed to be carry drugs however no evidence of the vessel actually carrying drugs has been documented. CBS


11. Doctor involved with Matthew Perry's ketamine overdose sentenced to 30 months in prison. Salvador Plasencia pleaded guilty to four counts of distribution of ketamine. Plasencia faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison for each count. While addressing the court Plasencia sobbed as he said " I should have protected him" and that he failed Perry and his family and that he had to "accept responsibility." Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett sentenced Plasencia to 30 months in federal prison for each account as well as fined him for $5,600.  ABC News


12. Viral TikTok trend has led to the arrests of three Florida Teenagers. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office two 14-year-olds and one 13-year-old were arrested November 23rd for loitering and prowling. The Homeowner called police reporting that someone was "attempting to kick their door in." This viral TikTok challenge called the "door kick challenge" could have faced worse consequences for their prank considering that the home owner stated that her husband "had his weapon in his hand in case they come back." When asked why they were doing it one of the teens responded "Just being stupid."  Fox News


13. Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting set for December 3rd. Living country legend Reba McEntire served as host for the night with the help of 'Today" show anchors Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Savannah Guthrie. Crowds are set to start gathering early in the day for a chance for an up close view of the 75-foot- tall Norway Spruce. USA today


14. 'Gilmore Girls' star Lauren Graham and creator Amy Sherman-Palladino to release 'Gilmore Girls' book in 2027. Celadon Books announced that the book was officially scheduled for the fall of 2027. Graham and Palladino will reflect on the creation of the show. Palladino stated that she "would jump at any chance to collaborate with Lauren Graham. On anything. Be it a boozy broads lunch at Joe Allen's or writing an actual book, the answer will always be 'yes'.  AP News


15. U.S. Citizens prison sentence in Russia extended 10 more years. Robert Gilman is no stranger to getting his prison time lengthened. He was initially detained for petty hooliganism. In 2022 Gilman was convicted of assaulting a police officer and received a three and a half years sentence. In 2024 he was found guilty of attacking a prison inspector. Gilman along with at least nine other Americans are still imprisoned in Russia following the prisoner exchanges in 2024 and 2025.  Fox News
